Oral C Mouthwash is an antimicrobial solution designed to inhibit dental plaque formation. It is indicated for:
- Treating and preventing gingivitis.
- Maintaining oral hygiene, especially when tooth brushing is not feasible (e.g., after oral surgery or in mentally/physically handicapped patients).
- Promoting gingival healing following periodontal surgery or treatment.

- Discoloration: Temporary staining of the tongue, teeth, and dental restorations may occur. This can be minimized by reducing tea, coffee, and red wine consumption and regular brushing with toothpaste. Professional cleaning (scaling and polishing) may sometimes be required.
- Taste Changes: Transient disturbance of taste or a burning sensation of the tongue may occur initially but usually diminishes with continued use.
- Oral Desquamation: If oral peeling occurs, dilute the mouthwash with equal tap water before use.
- Parotid Gland Swelling: Rare cases of swelling, which resolve upon discontinuation, have been reported.

Dosage & Administration
Adults: Rinse the mouth thoroughly with 10 ml of mouthwash for one minute, twice daily. In dental surgery, patients should rinse for one minute before treatment.
- Avoid using conventional toothpaste immediately before or after Oral-C, as it is incompatible with anionic agents. Rinse the mouth between applications or use the toothpaste at a different time of day.
- For gingivitis: A treatment course of about one month is recommended, though the response may vary.
- For aphthous ulcers and oral candidiasis: Continue treatment for 48 hours after symptoms resolve.
- For dental stomatitis: Clean dentures and soak them in the mouthwash for 15 minutes twice daily.
Children (12 years and older) & Elderly: Use the same dosage as adults unless otherwise advised by a healthcare provider.
Children under 12 years: Use only under medical supervision.
Route of Administration: For oral (external) use only.
